In its various iterations, Freight News has been around for a long time – in both a weekly and fortnightly version (and even a really glossy full-blown ‘collectors’ edition a couple of times a year.Fifty years seems so easy to say – but that is really a long, long time, for any publication (and we have seen many come and go). Why then, has Freight Newsstayed the course? Simple. A good, solid publication with relevant and timeous information. In the most, the reporting has been solid and down the line (yes, now and then there was a well-deserved partisan kick at the tendons of a truly deserving recipient). That is always a good thing (in moderation), but importantly, the kicks have been well supported by solid facts and background reputable journalism. Not something one sees very often these days.Freight News has been an important conduit for the Road Freight Association (RFA) in both directions – to get information but also to put points across, to reach those who need to know the facts and to ensure that perceptions do not overwhelm the facts. The RFA appreciates and values the relationship it has with Freight News, its clear questioning and representation of the facts (how it sees the situation and not how those who are approached would like the situation to be presented). From all of us at the RFA – congratulations on being a publication that still brings the news. Unfiltered. Relevant. Reliable.
