The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport has offered some concessions for the movement of abnormal loads during the World Cup. While the embargo remains in force, alternative routes for abnormal loads will be considered as long as they don’t compromise the integrity of the event. “As during all previous abnormal load embargo days, the permit office will remain open for business and can be approached for exemption from the embargo,” the department said. “Certain allowances will be considered for the world cup period. Each application will be considered on merit.”
