A COUNTER-bid has now been made for the UK’s ferry and international port operator, Peninsular & Oriental (P&O) Steam Navigation. The Singapore port owner and the world’s second-largest port operator, PSA Ports, has eclipsed the R36-billion bid from Dubai port company, DP World, with its own R38-bn offer. The bidding war pushed up P&O shares by 6.2%.
