Communication is key to seamless integration

Continuous open-channelled discussions are the only way to ensure the seamless integration of the full supply chain, coupled with the modernisation programme of the South African Revenue Service (Sars). This is according CJ Pagel, director of Easy Clear, a software support service provider that is in the process of developing a seamless tracking module from indent to distribution. With all in agreement that the customs modernisation programme has created many opportunities for greater efficiency when exporting or importing, it is however important that the integration process is not only seamless, but also aligned. Pagel says in this process constant communication makes the difference. “With the revival of MAS, now known as ACM, the logistics process is likely to become more complicated, making communication more important than ever before. There are exciting developments and visions set by Sars for road freight and cross-border consignments which form an integral part of the supply chain,” says Pagel. “We are constantly engaged with Sars in this regard to ensure seamless integration.”
