The Western Australia government and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (Comesa) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Lusaka, Zambia over the weekend to build and promote investment with 19 African states, reports TradeMark Southern Africa (TMSA). Western Australia premier Colin Barnett said the objective of the MoU would be to share knowledge and technology between Western Australia and the Comesa states across areas such as mining, petroleum and agriculture. “Engaging with Comesa is an excellent way for the member states to build relationships in the region and open up an exciting new market for Western Australian goods and services,” Barnett said.
