FREIGHT NEWS daily as it affects Southern Africa's business engaged in international trade is now at your fingertips.
FT Now, Freight & Trading Weekly's daily news service on the Internet, is now up and running and ready to supply you with a customised daily update of news stories as they happen.
Readers can merely log onto the service, choose the categories which interest them - these cover the broad spectrum of the freight industry in all its transport modes - and relevant news items will be emailed to them on a daily basis or as they are published.
In addition there's a discussion forum where participants can open new discussions or post their views on a topic already opened by another reader.
In time we will run chat room discussions in which experts will answer reader questions on a given topic at a given time.
Interactivity is the name of the game in Internet publishing, and with your participation, FTNow will become an electronic meeting space for the freight industry - allowing readers to exchange views and ask and provide advice on topics of general interest.
The website can be accessed at www.ftnow.co.za
FT Now is the latest module making up the Cargo Info Africa portal which is changing the way importers, exporters and the freight industry run their businesses.
The free service (www. cargoinfo.co.za) includes the most comprehensive sailing schedules in and out of SA ports, daily updated stack dates, the customs tariff and a host of other modules including a Who's Who in local freight.
