The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport South Africa (Ciltsa) is hosting a webinar to mark International Women’s Day which will be celebrated globally on March 8.
Ciltsa’s special online event titled, Give, Gain, Grow: Stronger Together, takes place the day before, on March 7.
The 90-minute session is a key instalment in Ciltsa’s ongoing Women Empowerment focus, an initiative designed to foster professional growth and leadership.
The webinar brings together industry trailblazers to discuss how collaboration and support drive success in the transport, logistics and supply chain sector.
“This event is a vital platform for fostering the collaboration needed to drive our industry forward," said Shevon Kotiah brand ambassador for Ciltsa.
“By creating a space where women can share expertise and resources, we aren't just empowering individuals, we are strengthening the entire logistics, transport and supply chain ecosystem,” she said.
The webinar focuses on the power of the collective, moving beyond individual achievements to create a “circular economy of support" across the industry.
The speaker line-up includes: Lebo Rakgekola, department executive for sales at Isuzu, Samantha Ferreira, senior product manager for video at Powerfleet and Maserati Ramokadi, transport and logistics analyst at Absa. Lebo Letsoalo, founder of Sincpoint and the African Women in Supply Chain Association, will facilitate the session.
Some focus areas will include:
- Mentorship and leadership: Exploring how sharing knowledge and training creates a more resilient operational workforce.
- The Business case for inclusion: Discussing how diversity, supported by technology and data, leads to measurable gains in safety and efficiency.
- Economic empowerment: Addressing the importance of financial access and tailored support for women-owned businesses to scale effectively.
- Systemic change: Discussions on how industry leaders can collaborate to set new standards for equity and growth.
“Our goal is to move from conversation to action," said Kotiah. "By giving access and support, we gain a stronger industry, allowing every professional to grow."
The webinar will conclude with a collective pledge, encouraging all attendees to commit to one specific action to support women in the sector throughout the month of March.
