THERE’S A lot more to pest control than
meets the eye, which is why it’s vital for
any warehouse operator to check the
credentials of any pest control company
they choose, says André Swanepoel of
Pest Control Specialists.
And that means ensuring the company
and the individual operator are registered
with the department of Agriculture
and that his certificate qualifies him to
perform the work required.
“Don’t always choose the cheapest
quote. There are less reputable companies
out there that will cut costs to clinch a
deal, often affecting the quality of the
service delivered.”
The SA Pest Control Association sets
the industry standard for practitioners,
which is why it’s advisable to deal only
with SAPCA-registered members.
But Swanepoel points out that effective
pest control is a team effort. “Pay attention
to the recommendations offered after each
service.”
If you’re dealing with a SAPCA member,
you’re assured that the company subscribes
to ethical practices and is serious about its
business, he added.
