The Johannesburg and Cape Chambers of Commerce and Industry have been granted Certificate of Origin (CoO) issuing accreditation through the International Chamber of Commerce World Chamber Federation Certificate (ICCWCF) of Origin Chain.

The Johannesburg and Cape Chambers are founding members of the Association of South African Chambers (ASAC), which issues 80 – 90% of all Certificates of Origin for goods from South Africa.

JCCI CEO, Bernadette Zeiler, said the chambers were proud of this accomplishment and warned that traders should be very aware of illegal documentation in the market.

This rigorous process had taken some time, but it affirms the high standards to which both chambers perform this function.

A distinct, internationally recognised, quality label appears next to the chamber stamp confirming their status as credible and trusted third parties in the issuance of Certificates of Origin.

This guarantees recognition and traceability for every CoO issued and, most importantly, provides worldwide Customs authorities with an easy, secure CoO authentication platform.

This quality label provides assurance that the CoOs have been issued to the highest standards of conformity with ICCWCF international guidelines.
