Capespan captures juicy citrus share

IT’S A juicy season for South African citrus this year and Capespan’s Joe Jooste is bullish about Capespan’s prospects. According to Jooste, of the 3,8 million grapefruit cartons shipped by all exporters this season, around 1,2 million will come from Capespan of which about 95% is destined for Japan. Capespan’s lemon exports to Japan will total around 300 000 cartons this season, more than double last year’s total, while oranges will clock in at 300 00 cartons, about the same as last year.
