BOTSWANA'S NATIONAL airline has lodged an objection with the Botswana aviation authorities to try and block an application by Comair to ply the lucrative Johannesburg-Gaborone route.

Air Botswana says granting Comair permission would have a severe impact on the airline. Comair already flies the route under its own colours but wants to do so under the banner of British Airways, its new partner.

If the application succeeds it could lead to Comair increasing its flights between SA and Botswana.
