Border cop arrested over bribery allegation

A policeman who works at the Beitbridge border post was expected to appear in court on Monday after he allegedly accepted a R10 000 bribe, according to eyewitness news. He is believed to be based in the vehicle identification section at the border post and allegedly wanted to help a man accused of stealing a car, according to the report. The policeman apparently demanded the money in return for his assistance. He was arrested during a sting operation in Musina on Friday, and was in possession of R10 000 when at the time.
