Bolloré Transport and Logistics is set to open a modern logistics base in the airport area of Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire.
It will cover an area of 9 000 square metres and is expected to open for business in September. The facility will also contain a 3 500-sqm warehouse with modern equipment, including a weighbridge, a dock leveller, a palletisation system and a cold room.
Designed to support air cargo imports and exports to the region, this latest investment is estimated at US$5.4 million and has been in the construction pipeline for more than 14 months.
Further developments are also planned to facilitate the packaging of pharmaceutical products and to provide value-added storage for all types of freight, including perishable goods destined for the local market and European countries. These services will be provided by the conventional freight and express transport teams located close to the operating sites.
Bolloré Transport and Logistics Côte d’Ivoire managing director Joël Hounsinou said: “This investment is part of the structuring projects to which we have been committed for several years, aiming at modernising the logistics infrastructure in Côte d'Ivoire.
“Two years on from the inauguration of Aérohub, we are preparing to bring a modern infrastructure into operation that will enable us to meet the growing needs of our customers and to strengthen our role as a regional logistics hub.”
