AN EXPANDING service portfolio is key to staying ahead
in the highly competitive clearing and forwarding market.
“We now offer warehousing space which forms part of
our related diversification plans for growth in 2008,” says
JP Mesquita, MD of Gojo Cargo.
Gojo moved into its new premises in Isando in August
last year and is keen to capitalise on its close airport access
in 2008. “We get to rub shoulders with some very large
companies,” says Mesquita. The new location with 750m2
warehousing will assist in growing the forwarding and
clearing side of the business.
“In July last year we moved 133 containers of motor
vehicles out of China,” says Mesquita. “From next March,
we stand to be awarded a contract to move over 120 fortyfoot
containers per month into South Africa. We are going
to be very busy, but we are ready for whatever comes our
way.”
The company is involved in the export of live trees to
the Middle East and China, on an ongoing basis, a market
Mesquita intends to grow in 2008. “Angola and Nigeria
have also been good markets for us and we hope to pick
up more business on these routes.”
