AFTER SEVERAL years of unfulfilled promises a new weighbridge is finally to be erected on Bayhead Road opposite the Trawlers Wharf entrance in Durban. The weighbridge will have a length of 22 metre deck facility with a break-tester unit.
No date has yet been set for commencing the long - overdue widening of Bayhead Road, for which the City Council recently granted approval.
Portnet announced last year its intention to widen the road, which at times is severely over - burdened with heavy traffic. The road is the only entry point for road-hauled container traffic into and out of Africa's busiest container terminal.
