Battle for e-Natis rages on as another appeal is lodged

The battle for control of the electronic national administration traffic information system (eNatis) is raging on as current manager and administrator, Tasima, has approached the Supreme Court of Appeal in a last-ditch attempt take back control of the system.

Tasima is appealing against a recent ruling ordering it to hand over management of the system.

The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) was ready to take over the management of the system, it said in a statement. In April, the High Court in Pretoria reaffirmed a Constitutional Court ruling that control of eNatis be brought back to the RTMC, with the Minister of Transport, Joe Maswanganyi, hailing the judgment as a victory.

He has since experienced difficulty in getting Tasima to hand over management of the system and vacate the office.
