BRITISH AIRWAYS is keen to add another frequency to Cape Town, pending renegotiation of the bilateral air service agreement between the two countries to push up the current limit of 26 flights each for Britain and South Africa.
This would give it a daily service on the route.
South African Airways will increase its flights on the Johannesburg - London run to 18 in March, one less than BA.
While SAA plans to take up its quota of 26 frequencies next year, BA cannot do the same unless the bilateral agreement is changed because Virgin Atlantic already has seven flights, according to FTW's sister publication TNW.
