The World Customs Organisation (WCO) has advised of its fast-approaching annual WCO Capacity Building week in 2012. According to the WCO the third (3rd) Session of the WCO Capacity Building Committee (CBC) and the eleventh (11th) Session of the Integrity Sub-Committee (ISC) will take place on 27 to 29 February 2012 and 01 to 02 March 2012 respectively, in Brussels, at WCO Headquarters and be conducted in English, French, Arabic, and Spanish. The following from the WCO: The meetings will again gather together Customs senior executives and experts on HR and training from our WCO Members who are aiming for and driving reform and modernisation processes within their administrations, representatives from other international organisations, donors as well as partners from the academic world and the private sector. The CBC theme of “Agile and responsive Customs in the 21st Century through reform and modernisation” will provide a lot of opportunities for substantial exchange of information and experience in this area that will hopefully lead to very tangible outcomes and perspectives for future capacity-building activities The CBC Session will immediately be followed by the 11th Session of the ISC on 01-02 March. The working documents in preparation for the meetings have started to be placed on the WCO Members’ Web site – and will be sent to all registered participants prior to the meeting. Please do not forget to register on-line for both meetings as indicated in the invitations that have been sent to you! Your active participation is of great value to us. Do not miss this opportunity to shape the future work and targets of the WCO Capacity Building agenda!
