Aluminium covers will protect Durban's open stacks

PORTNET HAS awarded a contract to a Pietermaritzburg company, Alpull, for the supply of six new portable aluminium framed structures to use on open stacks along the quayside at Durban harbour.
The portal frames are covered with PVC and are mounted on wheels enabling them to be moved around from stack to stack. The structures can be secured into the ground with steel hooks in case of windy conditions and will add a new dimension to open stacking along the quayside, especially with steel cargo that is usually left exposed to the elements.
