THE ITALIAN air carrier, Alitalia has just joined SkyTeam - a global airline alliance of Aeromexico, Air France, CSA Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air. "The agreement follows three weeks of negotiations between Alitalia, Delta and Air France, the last of which is also viewing a possible shareholding in the financially-troubled Italian airline. Alitalia - with its fleet of two Boeing 747-200 freighters and one Boeing 747-400 freighter - will soon also be joining SkyTeam Cargo. This will allow the carrier to offer the largest global network out of Italy, which the airline rates as one of Europe's leading markets for air freight.
