Agreements on Customs Assistance

On 07 August 2013 Sars announced the status of its Customs Agreements on Mutual Administrative Assistance. The purpose of the agreements, entered into by two customs administrations is to (i) enable the administrations to exchange information, (ii) provide each other with technical assistance, (iii) undertake surveillance and investigations together, with, and on behalf of, each other, and (iv) co-operate with each other in order to enhance the efficiency of their operations The agreements are listed in alphabetical order with the date of entry in force appearing in brackets: Algeria (05 March 2003), Brazil (01 December 2012), Canada (09 November 2010), People's Republic of China (01 February 2007), Democratic Republic of Congo (01 May 2008), France (01 July 2000), India (01 October 2008), Iran (01 August 2012), Japan (02 July 2012), Mozambique (12 January 2006), Netherlands (01 April 2003), Norway (01 November 2006), United Kingdom (01 June 2000), and the United States of America (01 August 2001).
