On 05 April 2024, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) announced an amendment to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) rate of customs duties through the insertion in Schedule No.1 Part 1 of the Customs and Excise Act, 1964 (Ordinary Duties) of tariff subheadings 7225.92.25 ‘Of a thickness not exceeding 0,20 mm’; 7225.92.35 ‘Of a thickness exceeding 0,20 mm but not exceeding 0,45 mm’; 7225.92.45 ‘Of a thickness exceeding 0,45 mm but not exceeding 0,80 mm’; and 7225.92.55 ‘Of a thickness exceeding 0,80 mm but not exceeding’; and of the insertion of tariff subheadings 3906.90.30 ‘Liquids and pastes consisting of 50% or more of hydroxyl acrylic resin’; 3906.90.40 ‘Liquids and pastes consisting of 50% or more of thermoplastic acrylic resin’; 8214.90.90 ‘Other’; and 8302.30.90 ‘Other’.
