In a skills-depleted
environment, finding the right
staff to plug the knowledge
gap is often a major challenge
– and it’s the niche that retired
industry stalwart Mike Froy
believes he can fill.
Froy has set up a consultancy
business offering accounting
and administrative services to
the industry.
“I believe there is a shortage
of skills across the board in
the clearing and forwarding
industry,” he told FTW. “The
gap I see is among smaller
agents who don’t have a
big accounting /HR staff
complement and by implication
there are gaps in their
knowledge in these respective
fields.”
The skills set that Froy has
to offer has been built up over
35 years in the freight industry,
in financial director and
managing director roles. He
was MD of Lonrho Logistics
before his retirement.
A degreed accountant, Froy
joined his first c&f company in
1979 after completing articles
with one of the major auditing
firms.
