Maud Kgomo, admin and compliance supervisor at Katlego Global Logistics, left the banking industry in April this year to take on a new challenge, with the opportunity to grow and to integrate the values and systems she’s learnt during the course of her career. She doesn’t see freight as a strictly maledominated industry, stating that it is rather about an individual’s determination to succeed. “The support I receive from my colleagues and superiors is amazing,” says Kgomo. According to her, the best piece of advice she ever received was: “You can never please everyone, do the best you can with what you’ve got.” Kgomo is a mother to three children – a son, aged five and twin 17-month-old daughters. “I have to juggle their needs with being the best wife I can be in the few hours I have left after an equally demanding job. It hasn’t been smooth sailing but I do my best to keep my family happy,” she says. CAPTION Maud Kgomo ... Determined to succeed.
