The World Trade Organisation (WTO) on 14 July announced that Liberia had become its 163rd member, after nearly 10 years of negotiating its accession. Liberia is the eighth least-developed country (LDC) to accede to the WTO through negotiations, whilst seven out of 19 African countries are negotiating their WTO accession.
