A.P. Moller – Maersk has announced that its chief operating officer (COO), Søren Toft, has stepped down with immediate effect.
A statement released by the Danish company said Toft has left to pursue an opportunity outside the company.
The responsibilities of the COO will temporarily be taken on by Maersk CEO Søren Skou.
The line’s board now consists of Søren Skou as CEO and interim COO, chief financial officer Carolina Dybeck Happe, chief commercial officer Vincent Clerc, and Morten Engelstoft, chief executive of APM Terminals.
Skou said: “I have worked with Søren for many years and I appreciate his many contributions to A.P Moller – Maersk. He leaves an agile and strong operating organization and we all wish Søren the very best in the future.” – Own correspondent.
