Kevin Mayhew CUSTOMERS ARE increasingly demanding that charter operators provide a one-stop service for the supervision and co-ordination of ramp handling facilities and warehouse handling, says the owner of Sibronov Freight Management, Marcel Nowak. Established a year ago, Sibronov provides both supervision on airside and warehouse handling to charter aircraft along with all other services associated with freight management such as customs clearance of cargo. “Although there is a call for the total freight management service, we have found that the most outstanding switch at present is that greater importance is placed on having the functions of airside supervision and warehousing provided by a single entity to avoid problems,” he explained. He said that in his experience in the freight forwarding business, there were few players who assisted their clients throughout the entire process of moving goods on a 24-hour basis, from the minute the initial contact was made with the client, to the final delivery of cargo to its destination. Clients are kept electronically informed of the status of their goods at all times.
