Required Qualifications:
  • Degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management, Commerce, or a related field
  • Leadership or management qualification would be advantageous
  • Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle required
  • Proficiency in CargoWise or similar logistics ERP systems preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in clearing and forwarding and supply chain operations
  • At least 5 years’ senior management experience across both commercial and operational functions
  • Proven track record in business development, customer retention, and revenue growth
  • Strong experience in managing regional profitability, operational budgets, and overall financial performance
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards and requirements
Description:

A senior leadership opportunity exists for a Regional Manager - Cape Town (Clearing and Forwarding) within a well-established and expanding freight forwarding organisation. This position offers the chance to make a significant impact within a high-performance logistics environment, with strong visibility and influence across the broader business.

  • Lead and execute regional strategic objectives aligned to divisional goals, ensuring sustainable growth and operational-commercial alignment.
  • Drive business development by identifying new opportunities, expanding market share, building pipelines, and supporting sales initiatives.
  • Manage key customer relationships through regular engagement, retention strategies, and resolution of escalated issues.
  • Oversee regional financial performance by managing budgets, controlling costs, improving margins, and ensuring financial accountability.
  • Monitor and improve operational performance by supporting operations, resolving escalations, and maintaining service excellence.
  • Drive continuous improvement by streamlining processes, reducing inefficiencies, and improving turnaround times and productivity.
  • Manage forecasting, debtor performance, cash flow, and financial governance across the region.
  • Identify and mitigate operational and compliance risks through risk monitoring, escalation management, and corrective action implementation.
  • Lead and develop the regional team through performance management, coaching, succession planning, and building a high-performance culture.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with clients, service providers, and industry partners.
  • Support innovation and digital improvement by enhancing system usage, driving automation, and improving processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standards, including health, safety, and quality systems.
  • Maintain high customer service standards through proactive communication, escalation management, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee sales pipeline activity, tender participation, proposal development, and pricing support.
  • Provide accurate reporting and business insights through analysis of regional performance and key operational trends.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, environmental, and safety standards, supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
