Our client, a global leader in the freight and logistics sector, is seeking a highly driven Field Sales Executive (Business Development) to join their commercial team. This role is focused on expanding revenue, growing the customer base and driving strategic business development across the region.
The Field Sales Executive will be responsible for increasing company revenue, profitability and market share by securing new business and managing customer relationships within the assigned geographic area. This includes executing field sales plans, driving customer retention and delivering consistent lead generation aligned with the organization's commercial strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Support internal teams to grow the freight and forwarding customer base across Southern Africa.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure exceptional service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Identify customer needs and align them with relevant products and solutions.
- Execute field sales strategies to achieve revenue growth and target margins.
- Engage potential customers, conduct needs assessments and match them with relevant solutions.
- Deliver impactful sales presentations, proposals, and product information.
- Monitor competitors and market trends for strategic insights.
- Complete a minimum of 8 customer engagements per week and log all activity within the CRM (MDS).
Requirements:
- 5–8 years experience in International Freight Management.
- Solid understanding of import/export procedures and Incoterms.
- Proven track record in sales, business development or field sales.
- Excellent communication, networking and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with CargoWise1 an advantage.
- Comfortable working with CRM systems (MDS or similar).
- Matric.
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Marketing or a relevant field.
