Our client, a leading logistics company, is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Road Freight Development Manager to drive new business growth and elevate their road freight operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a sales-savvy professional with strong operational expertise, who thrives on building lasting client relationships and consistently exceeding targets. 

Responsibilities:

  • Generate new business revenue through prospecting, qualifying and closing deals.
  • Prepare tenders, reports, presentations and approve customer-specific rates.
  • Analyse client requirements and propose tailored road freight solutions.
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships through professional service and proactive follow-ups.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets for all services offered.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, products and competitor offerings.
  • Facilitate effective communication between sales teams and internal departments.

Requirements:

  • Matric or equivalent; BCom Logistics preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience, ideally in the logistics industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully generating leads and closing deals.
  • Strong operational background and trade lane knowledge across Africa/cross-border movements.
  • Excellent client orientation, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Target-driven, able to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
