VAT 404 – Guide for Vendors Published

On 17 December 2024, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) published Issue 15 of its “VAT 404 – Guide for Vendors.”

The VAT 404 is an essential guide where technical and legal terminology has been avoided wherever possible. Although fairly comprehensive, the Guide does not deal with all the legal details associated with VAT and is not intended for legal reference.

The information in this Guide is based on the Value-Added Tax (VAT) Act and the Tax Administration (TA) Act as of publishing. It includes the latest amendments in the Taxation Laws Amendment Act, 2023, the Tax Administration Laws Amendment Act, 2023 and the Rates and Monetary Amounts and Amendment of Revenue Laws Act, 2023. These Acts were all promulgated in the Government Gazettes of 22 December 2023.
