US product keeps flowers fresh

A COMPANY in the US has developed an innovative product that keeps shipped flowers fresh, and it claims the product can double their life.
That's according to a recent report on the Schednet Internet news service.
The device is a plastic cylinder with air holes in the lid that is partially filled with water, while a cardboard ring keeps the flowers inside in place. The device is transported upright. The product has been developed by Pagter Innovation, a Chicago-based company, which has also designed a larger bouquet package that has a water container in its base.
