On 19 January 2022, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) announced an amendment to the Updated Prohibited and Restricted Goods List with the goods (placebos and blinded (or double-blinded) clinical trial kits for a recognised clinical trial, put up in measured doses) of tariff subheading 3006.93 now needing to be detained for Port Health Inspections.
