Two new vessels to be added

THE RECENTLY re-branded United Africa Container Lines (formerly Unifeeder/Unicorn) will put two new vessels - Pongola and Sezela - into its West Coast service fleet during May and June.
This additional string will complement the existing three vessels and add an extra frequency between Durban and Luanda, Angola.
According to United Africa’s marketing and business development executive Andrew Thomas, the additional frequency and capacity is being introduced to service the ever-growing demand from mainline operators transhipping Angola-destined cargoes in SA ports.
“We are also seeing significant growth in regional trade between SA and Angola,” he told FTW, “as well as in our domestic trade between the major SA ports.
“All of our clients in the various market segments for which we cater will benefit from the additional frequency this second West Coast string will offer.”
