In a Government Gazette dated 14 October 2011 the South African Revenue Service (Sars) announced the Publication of Explanatory Summary of the Taxation Laws Second Amendment Bill, 2011. According to the notice the Minister of Finance intends introducing the Taxation Laws Second Amendment Bill, 2011, in the National Assembly in October 2011. (The explanatory summary of the Bill is hereby published in accordance with Rule 241(1)(c) of the Rules of the National Assembly.) The Bill proposes amendments to the Customs and Excise Act, and makes: (i) Additional provision for disclosure of information; (ii) Provision for continuations; (iii) Provision for broadening the scope of a section; and (iv) Provision for matters connected therewith.
