On March 7, 2025, the International Trade Administration Commission (Itac) initiated a sunset review of anti-dumping duties on soda ash originating in or imported from the USA.
Following various submissions, Itac made a final determination that the expiry of the anti-dumping duty would likely lead to the continuation of material injury to affected parties.
Itac therefore recommended to the finance minister that the anti-dumping duty of 40% on soda ash originating in or imported from the USA be maintained.
This recommendation was approved by Minister Enoch Godongwana.
