Public comment in respect of the “Special Economic Zones Bill, 2011” (“Policy on the Development of Special Economic Zones in South Africa - 2012”) is due by 22 March 2012. The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) has extended an “Invitation to Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Public Participation Workshops”. These workshops will be hosted country wide and on the respective day will be scheduled from 09:00 to 13:30. The following dates are still to run: 23 February 2012 Free State (Bloemfontein); 24 February 2012 Northern Cape (Kimberley); 28 February 2012 North West (Mafikeng); 01 March 2012 Limpopo; and 08 March 2012 Gauteng (Pretoria).
