South Coast rail line closed

A safety inspection to establish whether repairs are necessary has temporarily closed Spoornet’s Port Shepstone/Harding line. The line is apparently in poor condition following its lease to a private operator recently placed under a liquidation order, according to a statement issued by Spoornet’s general manager, corporate affairs, Harry Mashele. “Spoornet has appointed a tentative management team to oversee the process until a suitable operator is in place. “
