Ongoing problems with bookings cancelled at the last minute has prompted CMA CGM to introduce a booking cancellation fee on the Europe to Indian subcontinent, Gulf and Red Sea trade, effective from June 1.
The fee is set at US$150 per TEU for any equipment type, excluding reefers, and will apply to all bookings cancelled or transferred seven calendar days or less before vessel cut-off date.
“Booking reliability will assist CMA CGM to efficiently allocate space and equipment in order to guarantee our customers’ needs and requirements,” a spokesman said.
