On 10 October 2024, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) advised that the latest scam was an email about unsettled payment. The scam leads you to a malicious website.

- Ensure the email or SMS is genuine before clicking on any link.
 - Protect yourself from scams and phishing!
 - Do not open or respond to emails from unknown sources.
 - Beware of emails or SMSes asking for personal, tax, banking or e-filing details.
 - SARS will never send you hyperlinks to other websites.
