On 04 October 2024, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) informed of the retrospective amendments to Schedule No.1 to the Customs and Excise Act, 1964 (‘Ordinary Customs Duty’) of the revised Tariff Rate Quotas (TRQ) in terms of the Economic Partnership Agreement between the Southern African Customs Union member states and Mozambique (SACUM) and the United Kingdom (UK).
The amendments are for:
- Retrospective effect from 01 January 2023.
- Retrospective effect from 01 September 2023 up to and including 31 December 2023.
- Retrospective effect from 01 January 2024.
