... and freezes hikes

SAA CARGO will maintain its current domestic rates until June 2002, according to Tleli Makhetha, recently appointed vice president and general manager of SAA Cargo.
The airline has reduced rates for freight forwarders moving cargo between Johannesburg and Durban.
"We are absorbing costs for the domestic market despite a hefty increase in input costs and the devaluation of the rand to the dollar," said Makhetha.
SAA Cargo's starlight express rate is R10,75 per kilogram. The daytime express rate and general freight rate are set at R9,95 and R2,90 p/kg respectively.
The sameday express rate between Johannesburg and Durban has been reduced from R9,55 to R5,20 per kg and general cargo from R2,90 to R1,90 per kg.
