SA commits to standardised border procedures

SOUTH AFRICAN customs procedures, including the standardisation of regulations with those of bordering countries, and the operating hours at border posts, will be the immediate focus of the Walvis Bay Corridor Group, says executive development officer Frank Gschwender. This follows a decision taken at the Group's strategic planning workshop held in Windhoek recently. According to Gschwender, South African officials have pledged their full co-operation in this undertaking, which is designed to speed up operations along the TransKalahari Highway and other points of entry into and exit from South Africa.
