The National Bargaining Council for the Road Freight and Logistic Industry (NBCRFLI) has successfully negotiated a three-year wage agreement, according to a statement released this week.
The intended date of implementation is 1 March 2019 following the expiry of the current agreement on 28 February 2019.
Annual increases Across the Board (ATB) for all job categories have been set at 8% for 2019, and 7.5% for 2020 and 2021.
Among the many provisions, parties agreed to a 50% increase for cross-border allowances for the first and second year of implementation. The final year will see a 7.5% increase.
Subsistence allowances will increase by 35% over the three-year period while the Hazchem allowance goes up from the 1.5% calculation to 2% of the minimum of the grade.
“The wage negotiations took place in the current technical recession that our country is faced with; however, the agreement was signed without any industrial action,” a spokesman said.
