On 22 October 2010 the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (ITAC) announced that it had revised its ‘Tariff Amendment Questionnaires’. The questionnaires are for (i) the increase in the rate of customs duty, (ii) the reduction in the rate of customs duty; and (iii) the creation of a rebate item, also known as a rebate provision, or the rebate of the customs duty. ITAC replaced the previous consolidated ‘Tariff Amendment Questionnaires’ with separate questionnaires for three types of applications.
