Promoting stronger Mozambique-Turkey trade

Mozambican exporters and importers are being encouraged to develop stronger ties with Turkey. Michael Helweg, the newly appointed managing director of Maersk Line Mozambique, worked extensively in Turkey during his previous posting and believes there is potential for Mozambique to increase its exports to the country. Turkey’s economy is growing and it is a major importer of the kind of raw materials and agricultural products produced in Mozambique, he said. Maersk can link exporters to Turkey through Durban and Cape Town.
