TRADE CONDITIONS measured by the trade activity index (TAI) of the Sacob/Standard Bank SA trade management indices (SATMI), show signs of steady improvement in October Ð reaching 55.7, its highest level this year. “With the index value comfortably above 50, trading conditions are generally healthy,” said the report. The medium term (six months) outlook deteriorated slightly in October Ð with the trade expectations index (TEI) coming in at 53.7 compared to September’s 56.
