PLASTICS EXPORTS have increased from R953,7
million in 1995 to R1,2 billion in 1998 and imports from R3,03 million to R3,98 million, according to Annabe Lombard of the Plastics Federation of South Africa.
Exports in polymers and other raw materials constitute 47% of the export market, packaging and closures 18%, film and sheet 9%, building and construction 11%, pipe and profile 4%, domestic wares 2% and others 9%.
This was very encouraging as the federation was encouraging exports, she said.
