On 14 November 2025, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) announced that the Prohibited Imports and Exports List for tariff headings 7102, 7104, and 7105 had been updated.
- Chapter 71: Natural or cultured pearls, precious or semi-precious stones, precious metals, metals:
- Tariff heading 71.02: Diamonds, whether or not worked, but mounted or set.
- Tariff heading 71.04: Synthetic or reconstructed precious or semi-precious stones, whether or not worked or graded but strung, mounted or set; ungraded synthetic or reconstructed precious or semi-precious stones, temporarily strung for convenience or transport.
- Tariff heading 71.05: Dust and powder or natural or synthetic precious or semi-precious stones.
