THE NIGERIAN Ports Authority (NPA) has been meeting with ships agents, operators and liner representatives concerning its new simplified tariff, according to information released to FTW by SAAFF (SA Association of Freight Forwarders).
In the words of the NPA, the new tariff is not intended to increase or reduce the existing tariff. Its goal is to remove all ambiguities in the present tariff and make it easier to calculate.
The new tariff was originally planned to come into effect on January 1 - but was shifted to February 1 while another meeting between the NPA and shipping companies' operators took place in mid-January.
